O.S. Chemisova, M.M. Sagakyants, E.N. Golenishcheva, E.M. Sanamyants

The Federal Government Health Institution "Rostov-on-Don Plague Control Researsh Institute" of the Federal Service for surveillance on consumer rights protection and human wellbeing: 117/40 M. Gorky Street, Rostov-on-Don, 344002, Russian Federation.

Achievements in the prevention of spreading pathogens caused the infectious diseases are associated with the use of disinfectants. To confirm the effectiveness of disinfectants it is common to use test microorganisms such as E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. typhimurium, S. aureus. The aim of the work was to select test – strain V. cholerae and to study its properties for evaluation of bactericidal efficacy of disinfectants. As a result of the work was selected strain V. cholerae O1 El Tor Ogawa No. 17551 which showed the increased resistance to alkyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, to polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride, to chloramine, to hydrogen peroxide.
Keywords: V. cholerae, disinfectants, quaternary ammonium compounds, guanidine derivatives, chloramine, hydrogen peroxide.

The susceptibility of german cockroaches to pyrrole insecticide chlorfenapyr

O.Yu. Eremina, V.V. Olifer

Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute of the Federal Service for surveillance on consumer rights protection and human well-being: 18 Nauchny proezd, Moscow, 117246, Russian Federation.

The susceptibility to chlorfenapyr of German cockroaches of 5 strains multi-resistant to insecticides was studied in comparison with the laboratory sensitive strain S-NIID. When topical application on insects, chlorfenapyr acts slowly, in all multiresistant strains of cockroaches, susceptibility (U1 1.1?, Y8 1.2?) or weak tolerance (M1 1.8?, M9 2.5?, OBN 2.0?) was detected. In relation to insects highly resistant to pyrethroids (resistance index of OBN> 4000?), both chlorfenapyr-based preparation and alpha-cipermetrin- and chlorfenapyr-based mixture are effective. Baits containing 1.2–5.0 % chlorfenapyr are ineffective, especially in the presence of an alternative food. Chlorfenapyr-based concentrates can be recommended for inclusion in rotation schemes for dealing with resistant cockroaches.
Keywords: chlorfenapyr, pyrethroids, resistance, Blattella germanica, German cockroaches

Prospects for use of hormonal type compounds as larvicides in the fight against larvae of blood-sucking mosquitoes

M.N. Kostina

Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute of the Federal Service for surveillance on consumer rights protection and human well-being: 18 Nauchny proezd, Moscow, 117246, Russian Federation.

The epidemiological danger of mosquitoes, which are specific carriers of causative agents of dangerous human diseases, and the increased incidence of human diseases with various fevers (West Nile, Dengue, Zika etc.) are grounds for continuing the search for effective means of killing mosquitoes. One of the reasons for the increase in the number of mosquitoes is the emergence of resistance, which has become a world problem at present, which has led to a decrease in the efficiency of treatment against many types of arthropods, including mosquitoes. In addition to traditional insecticides, nowadays, safer products for humans and the environment (including domestic production) have appeared in our country, based on compounds with a hormonal type of activity that have been widely used abroad for many years.
Keywords: mosquitoes, epidemiological significance, larvicides, hormonal activity, insecticides, reservoirs, juvenoids, inhibitors of chitin synthesis (ICS).

The assortment of insecticides intended for the control of non-flying insects for 30 years is analyzed. It is shown that most of the formulations represented various concentrated forms (39.7 %) and preparations in aerosol package (35.9 %) based on pyrethroids (43.5 %) and organophosphorus compounds (40.0 %). We determined the diagnostic concentrations for 16 insecticides of 4 chemical groups and the proportion of individuals of 9 populations of Cimex lectularius L. resistant to the main classes of insecticides. The proportion of individuals resistant to pyrethroids averaged 50–100 %. Susceptibility or tolerance remained only to neonicotinoids (imidacloprid, acetamiprid, clothianidin, thiamethoxam). It is shown that during 17–22 generations there was a reversion of susceptibility to pyrethroids in some of the studied populations in inbreeding, two populations from Smolensk had no reversion. A study on the presence of L925I and V419L point mutations responsible for resistance to pyrethroids in 9 urban populations of C. lectularius. L925I mutation was found in two populations of bed bugs whose resistance to pyrethroids have proven with use of entomotoxicological method. Determination of species showed that 11 of the 16 collected populations of bedbugs belong to C. lectularius, and 5 – to C. hemipterus. The proportion of individuals in populations of C. hemipterus resistant to cypermethrin was 13–55 %.
Keywords: bed bug, resistance, Cimex lectularius, Cimex hemipterus, resistant populations, pyrethroids, kdr gene, L925I and V419L point mutations.

Chicken pox in the border region. The state of the problem

I.V. Bozhenova, A.S. Pankov, V.V. Solovykh

Orenburg State Medical University: 6 Soviet str., Orenburg, 460000, Russian Federation

In article are studied and analysed the manifestations of the epidemic process of chicken pox in long-term dynamics and among age groups from 2005 for 2017 (on the example of the Orenburg region). The main research method is a retrospective epidemiological analysis, short-term forecasting rate of the incidence taking into account of confidential interval. In the long-term dynamics of the incidence of chicken pox is characteristic the moderate tendency to growth. Identified – areas of risk (24 administrative areas of the region) in which long-term dynamics tends to growth. The incidence is maintained mainly due to the child population of the region, is noted a reliable increase of incidence. Chicken pox is registered both at residents of the cities, and in rural areas that is caused by its distribution in the air-borne way. The highest incidence rate is observed in the age group from 3 to 6 years. Winter-spring seasonality is observed in the intra-annual morbidity dynamics. On the territory of the studied region, immunization against chicken pox is carried out only to certain groups of the population – children of children’s groups (orphanages, orphanages) and children born to HIV-infected mothers. Taking into account the analysis of the data obtained in article it is recommended to expand the list of categories for immunization and to include in it children at the age of 3–6 years for increase in number of an immune layer.
Keywords: chicken pox, risk areas, risk group, time at risk, prevention.
