Methodical approaches to studying antimicrobial activity of skin antiseptics accepted in Russia and in the countries of the European Union

The assessment of methodological approaches applied in studies of antimicrobial activity of skin antiseptics accepted in Russia and in the countries of the European Union is carried out. The comparative analysis of approaches established existence of the normative documents necessary for studying and testing of skin antiseptics and defining their efficacy. Similarity of requirements for skin antiseptics according to set of test microorganisms, necessary in studying antimicrobial activity for establishment of its existence for a short time (though thus different methods are used) was determined. These data are necessary for the subsequent studying of efficacy and safety and issue of the recommendations for use of skin antiseptics in the medical organizations. The accepted approaches in the different countries provide the correct assessment of antiseptic’s quality and bring a certain order in selection of skin antiseptics for the subsequent studying, allow to estimate prospects of skin antiseptics according to active ingredients (A.I.) and choose optimum concentrations or ratios of A.I. In the case of negative results it’s necessary to pay attention on composition of the skin antiseptic and, if it may possible, take measures for its correction.
Key words: skin antiseptics, antimicrobial activity, methodological approaches.

Luminometeres in rapid control of cleaning in healthcare facilities

Disinfection plays an important role in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Current and final cleaning should be accompanied with relevant methods of the rapid evaluation of cleaning performed. Nowadays different approaches to screening the quality of disinfection are available in hospitals. Of great importance are rapid tests to investigate the surceases treated. Critical appraisal of foreign experience of applying ATP-luminometers and the results of own experiments give an opportunity to consider possibility to use this method for the complex monitoring of sufficiency and quality of prophylactic disinfection in healthcare facilities.
Key words: disinfection, cleaning, ATP detection system, luminometer, bioluminescence, healthcare-associated infection.

Mould control and prevention at food industry enterprises

Here some new test data of antimicrobial, functionally technical properties of polyguanidines are presented by the example of antimicrobial polymer substance of long-term action (Biopag-D); the product is effective when used for antimould protection and current disinfection at food industry plants. In the current article results of industrial tests of the product are presented, and practicability of application of elaborated substance for preventive complex disinfection of working and domestic areas at plants, and equipment was shown. Obtained data do statistically prove high efficiency, universal character and prolonged effect of antimicrobial action of the product in industrial conditions towards sanitary indicative microflora, mould fungi, yeast. It was observed that working solutions and product itself have also deodorant action and do not have any side effect on staff. It allows to obtain the required specified level of disinfection of equipment.
Key words: disinfecting substances, polyguanidines, antimould treatment, food industry plants, sanitary indicative microflora, prolonged disinfecting action.

A trap for indoorcatches of mosquitos

Vector-borne diseases still are significant problems in 21 century. So we need to continue epizootic entomological monitoring. Mosquitos are one of the key objects for monitoring in organizations of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing; because mosquitos are transmission vectors. There are some devices to catching of mosquitos with some qualities and disadvantages. The goal of our trap is collection of mosquitos from the ceiling. Our trap can facilitate catching of mosquitos to keep their in good condition. It is easy in making, and usable. Keywords: mosquitos, trap for mosquitos, vector-borne zoonotic disease.

Investigation of Blattella germanica’ resistance to neonicotinoids

It was identified poor tolerance of urban populations of German cockroaches Blattella germanica to neonicotinoids (1,3 – 4,8×), and somewhere encountered resistance to imidacloprid (12,7×). Cockroaches are practically insensitive to deposits of neonicotinoids on the treated surface, and what has caused the absence of residual effect in practice. The sensitivity of German cockroaches urban populations to the imidacloprid baits was reduced. It was found a mosaic distribution of resistant populations, depending on the individual history of each object treatments. The greatest cockroaches resistance observed on catering facilities, dormitories and medical organizations.

Keywords: neonicotinoid, German cockroach, Blattella germanica, resistance, bait.

Epidemiologic Characteristics of Healthcare-Associated Infections on the Territory of Khabarovsk region

The article describes results of epidemiologic monitoring of healthcare-associated infections (HAI) in Khabarovsk region. Over a number of years the greatest number of HAI cases were registered in other hospitals, lesser rate was registered in surgical hospitals as well as maternal hospitals and the least rate – in children’s hospitals. During 2016 in the structure of HAI the percentage of purulent-septic infections in newborns has declined in 2,2 times, the percent of postoperative infections has also declined as well as puerperal purulent-septic infections. However during the same period of time the percentage of pneumonias has increased in 3,9 times. The ratio of purulent-septic infections to perinatal infections in newborns in Khabarovsk region was lower than national average rate. During 2012–2016 in medical institutions of Khabarovsk region new cases of hepatitis B and C were not registered. Improvement of the quality of conducted routine disinfection has eased the situation on HAI.
Key words: healthcare-associated infections, surgical hospitals, maternity hospitals, children’s hospitals, outpatient departments, other hospitals.
