Federal Government Health Institution "Volgograd Plague Control Research Institute" of the Federal Service for Surveillance in the Sphere of Consumers Rights Protection and Human Welfare: 7 Golubinskaya str., Volgograd, 400131, Russian Federation.

Creation of the database of disinfectants registered in Russia and recommended for decontamination of objects contaminated with pathogens of especially dangerous infections has been created. The database is represented in two versions: administrative and user. In the administrative version it is possible to replenish, edit and delete positions. In the user version – only the search for disinfectants is performed by the specified parameters. The created database is relational and is a system that facilitates the selection of the optimal disinfectant to perform certain tasks.
Keywords: registered disinfectants, database, microorganisms of I–II pathogenicity groups.

Preservation of population health depends not only on social and economic factors but importantly on environment conditions. Sewage sludge pose a great risk to environment because of high degree of their contamination. The levels of sewage sludge contamination with parasitic agents determine a possibility of further spread in natural environment and serve as a transmission factor to humans. Thereby there is an increasing need in accurate and objective evaluation of efficiency of disinvasion methods that are applied at urban wastewater treatment plants. The objective of the research was to conduct an analysis of literature sources that covers the issue of common sewage sludge utilization methods sustainability regarding impact on human health and environment. Top of the article agenda was an issue of traditional method of sludge drying in silt detention ponds with soil foundation. The article highlights that the current method can not be considered a civilized sludge disinvasion technique at urban wastewater treatment plants despite its economic efficiency.
Keywords: disinvasion, sewage sludge, silt detention ponds, helminths, ascariasis, toxocariasis.

Experience of using aerosol disinfection in ventilation systems

A.V. Alimov, N.N. Zhuykov, L.GVyatkina, T.A. Rupysheva

Federal Budgetary Institution of Science "Yekaterinburg Research Institute of Viral Infections" of the Federal Service for surveillance on consumer rights protection and human wellbeing: 23 Letnyaya Str., Yekaterinburg, 620030, Russian Federation.

The safety of ambient air in private and industrial premises is one of the conditions for preventing infections with droplet spread of the infectious agents. At present, there are several treatment methods for ventilation systems. Every treatment involves appropriate cleansing and disinfection methods depending on the operational features of the premises and the construction of the ventilation system using the appropriate equipment and disinfectants. Concurrently, the existing methods of disinfecting the ventilation channels do not always permit achieving the proper disinfection effect, in some cases even leading to damage of the final wall cladding, ceilings, furniture and loss of expensive equipment. Aerosol technology for disinfection of ventilation systems can be recommended as the main method of their preventive disinfection and for disinfection by epidemiological indications, being most sparing for engineering-technical aggregates and, simultaneously, effective in achieving the priority goal. The objective: Enriching the toolkit of disinfection methods for the engineering-technical aggregates of ventilation systems by introducing disinfectant spraying with aerosol generators for higher-performance treatment of the inner surface of air ducts.
Keywords: aerosol, disinfection, ventilation system, air ducts, disinfectants, method, AI (active ingredient), working holes.

To evaluate the activity of ABC transporters as a possible resistance mechanism in the German cockroach Blattella germanica by toxicological bioassay, verapamil inhibiting these transport proteins was used. Two methods were compared: topical application of verapamil in an acetone solution and the addition of verapamil to the drinking water offered to cockroaches. The use of verapamil and the treatment of insects with an insecticide by the topical application were desynchronized. The experiments were carried out on three multi-resistant strains of German cockroaches from Moscow (M1), Obninsk (OBN) and Yekaterinburg (U1), as well as on insects from the insecticide-susceptible laboratory strain S-NIID. The cockroaches showed high resistance to cypermethrin (resistance ratios (RR) for M1 13×, OBN > 4000×, U1 113×), a moderate resistance to chlorpyrifos (RR 13×, 15×, 18×, respectively) and susceptible or weak tolerance to propoxur (RR 1.8×, 0.7×, 0.8×, respectively), high resistance to fipronil (RR 26×, 50×, 20×, respectively), and tolerance to acetamiprid (RR 9.5×, 3.4×, 4.2×, respectively). The experimental results obtained by the two methods were comparable and had no statistically significant differences. Both methods are suitable for experimental toxicological studies on the contribution of ABC transporters to the mechanism of insect resistance to insecticides.
Keywords: Blattella germanica, German cockroach, АВС-transporter, verapamil resistance mechanisms.

At present, the top priority of healthcare is provision of quality and safety of medical aid to the population. A specific place is given to prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections. We assessed the disinfection and sterilization activities in healthcare facilities of the Ural and Siberian Federal Districts in 2017–2018 as per the data of the Federal Statistical Observation Form No.27 (FSOF No. 27) "Account of Disinfective Activities". The results of sanitary bacteriological monitoring in the healthcare organizations (further referred to as HO) were assessed. It was established that the microbiological research of the external environmental objects considerably outweighed the research of the medical instrumentation sterility. We assessed the detection frequency of unsterile specimens taken from the medical devices and off-nominal tests of disinfecting solutions. The posthoc epidemiological analysis in a number of constituents of the Ural and Siberian Federal Districts detected problems with management and execution of sanitary epidemiological activities as well as violation of sanitary anti-epidemic and disinfection regimes.
Keywords: environmental lavage samples, air sample tests, sterility, disinfectants, off-nominal tests.

In the current demographic situation, the reproductive health of the Russian population is a factor of national security. Objective monitoring of the epidemiological and microbiological situation of institutions is necessary, the results of which will allow timely identification of the harbingers of ill-being. The purpose of the work is to study the possibilities of a comprehensive assessment of the epidemiological situation in a obstetric institution based on the results of epidemiological and microbiological monitoring. Materials and methods: the work used the results of epidemiological monitoring of the incidence of nosocomial infection among newborns and puerperas, as well as microbiological monitoring of the material of newborns, puerperas and objects of the hospital environment for 2013–2016. Results: there was a decrease in the incidence of nosocomial infection of newborns in 1.4. Escherichia coli dominated from gram-negative flora, Staphylococcus spp., Respectively, from gram-positive microflora, and Staphylococcus epidermidis MRS from the group of methicillin-resistant staphylococci. In epidemiological departments from gram-positive flora S. epidermidis MRS prevailed, from gram-negative flora E. coli and Acinetobacter baumannii, in obstetric divisions from gram-positive flora Staphylococcus spp., from gram-negative – E. coli. In children’s departments, the highest level of microorganism excretion was noted when sowing from the skin, the eye and the stomach; in obstetric wards – during amniotic fluid inoculation, the separated cervical canal and placental ablation. It is proved that the assessment of the epidemiological situation of nosocomial infection in the obstetric institution is possible when conducting comprehensive epidemiological and microbiological monitoring.
Keywords: nosocomial infections, etiological pathogens, microbiological monitoring, obstetric institution, hospital environment.
