Recently, outbreaks of infectious diseases caused by various viruses have become more frequent in the world. Literature data of recent years show that antiseptics based only on propanol-1 and propanol-2 are not effective against infections caused by non-enveloped viruses. Antiseptics based on ethyl alcohol have a wide spectrum of virucidal action, including against non-enveloped viruses. Interruption of transmission of non-enveloped viruses in the population without the use of ethanol-containing antiseptics cannot be guaranteed.
Keywords: non-enveloped viruses, ethanol-containing antiseptics.

Susceptibility of the multi-resistant strains of the house fly and the german cockroach to fluralaner and fipronil

O.Yu. Eremina, V.V. Olifer, T.A. Davlianidze

Institute of Disinfectology of the Federal Scientific Center of Hygiene named after F.F. Erisman: 2 Semashko str., Mytishchi, Moscow region, 141014, Russian Federation.

The comparative insecticidal activity of fluralaner and fipronil against resistant strains of the house fly and the German cockroach was studied upon contact and ingestion. Topical application revealed extremely high resistance of flies to fluralaner (300–2100×) and resistance of various levels to fipronil (5–75×). All strains of the German cockroach were resistant to fluralaner (5–50×), resistance to fipronil was higher (8–192×). Insecticidal activity of fluralaner increased within 72 hours when applied topically to M. domestica ranged from 2.8 to 10 times, fipronil from 2.5 to 13.1 times, while for the B. germanica this activity increased from 6.5 to 50 times for fluralaner, and from 1.7 to 15 times for fipronil. For houseflies, the intestinal effect of fluralaner is 1.7–17.0 times higher, and that of fipronil is 1.2–2.4 times higher than that by contact.
Keywords: Musca domestica, Blattella germanica, proinsecticide, resistance.

Ultrasonic insect repellers – advertising and reality

V.V. Olifer, K.S. Krivonos, O.Yu. Eremina

Institute of Disinfectology of the Federal Scientific Center of Hygiene named after F.F. Erisman: 2 Semashko st., Mytishchi, Moscow region, 141014, Russian Federation.

The concept of the potential impact of ultrasound on the safety and performance of people, especially with prolonged exposure, is described. In the view of the widespread advertising and use of ultrasonic repellers, especially in places frequented by children and pets, it is especially important to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ultrasonic generators. The modern data of the world scientific literature on the ineffectiveness of ultrasonic repellers against arthropods (mosquitoes, cockroaches, fleas, bed bugs, ants and ixodid ticks) are presented. When studying ultrasonic repellers, first of all, it is necessary to instrumentally confirm the radiation of waves of ultrasonic range by the device, and it is also necessary to conduct studies of the target efficacy and safety of use.
Keywords: ultrasound, repeller, arthropods, insects, efficacy, safety.

2Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Perm State Medical University named after academician E.A. Wagner" of the Ministry of Health of the Russia: 26 Petropavlovskaya str., Perm, 614990, Russian Federation.

The studied conditions for infection with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, which occupies a leading place in Russia among all natural focal infections, mainly relate to forest and forest-steppe landscapes, while the conditions for infection of the population in the steppe remain poorly understood. The purpose of the work is to determine the conditions for infection with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in the population of the forest-steppe and steppe landscapes using the example of the Orenburg region. Puumala hantavirus circulates in the region. 731 maps of the epidemiological examination of the epidemic focus of zoonoses were studied. The study showed that in the forest-steppe landscape, in comparison with the steppe, infection of the population occurs more often during work on a personal plot, as well as in everyday life at the place of residence from small mammals or environmental objects. In the steppe landscape, in contrast to the forest-steppe, infection with hantaviruses is more often observed during fishing and when resting in the forest.
Keywords: hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, forest-steppe and steppe landscapes, infection conditions.

Topical issues of resistance of microorganisms to disinfectants

L.S. Fedorova, A.V. Ilyakova

Scientific Research Institute for Systems Biology and Medicine of Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being: 18 Nauchniy proezd, Moscow, 117246, Russian Federation.

Resistance of microorganisms to antimicrobial agents (antibiotics, antiseptics and disinfectants) is a national problem, which requires careful attention and actions to solve it. Excessive and improper use of disinfectants can affect the reduction of susceptibility of microorganisms. This report presents the types of resistance of microorganisms, factors contributing to its formation and possible ways to overcome microbial resistance.
Keywords: resistance of microorganisms, disinfectants, biocides, monitoring.

Features of the organization of microbiological monitoring of the sensitivity of HCAI pathogens to disinfectants

A.A. Serov1, N.I. Eremeeva1,2

1Institute of Disinfectology of the Federal Scientific Center of Hygiene named after F.F. Erisman: 2 Semashko str., Mytishchi, Moscow region, 141014, Russian Federation;
2National Medical Research Center for Tuberculosis and Infectious Diseases of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation: 50, 22nd Party Congress Street, Yekaterinburg, 620039, Russian Federation.

The widespread uncontrolled use of antibiotics, disinfectants and skin antiseptics by the population in everyday life, in the current epidemiological situation, is a decisive factor for the emergence of strains of microorganisms that are resistant to these antimicrobial agents. The appearance of such microorganisms increases the risk of infections associated with the provision of medical care in medical organizations. At the same time, microbiological monitoring of the sensitivity of hospital microflora to disinfectants, prescribed by the requirements of the Sanitary Rules SanPiN 3.3686–21 "Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the prevention of infectious diseases", is either not carried out in medical organizations at all, or is carried out formally. At the same time, one of the key issues of microbiological monitoring remains unresolved, namely, organizational decisions based on its results, such as the rotation of disinfectants that have shown a lack of effectiveness when used in a medical organization, training personnel in the correct preparation of working solutions and their use.
Keywords: healthcare-associated infections; disinfection measures; disinfectants; resistance of microorganisms; microbiological monitoring of sensitivity to disinfectants.

Current evidence for mutations responsible for murine rodent resistance

L.I. Istomina, E.N. Bogdanova, I.S. Gevorkyan, S.V. Andreev

Institute of Disinfectology of the Federal Scientific Center of Hygiene named after F.F. Erisman: 2 Semashko str., Mytishchi, Moscow region, 141014, Russian Federation.

Modern means of rodent control, mechanism of blood anticoagulants action, emergence of resistance to anticoagulants are considered. Outbreaks of rodent numbers, including those associated with their resistance, force the search for new ways and means to reduce them. The widespread use of acute poisons poses a risk to humans and the environment. In this regard, it is necessary to search for new active substances for deratization agents, the mechanism of action of which would not be associated with the transformation of vitamin K in the body.
Keywords: resistance, rodents, anticoagulants.
